Picasa vs Google Plus (G+)

Moving on from Picasa
Friday, February 12, 2016 10:00 AM
Since the launch of Google Photos, we’ve had a lot of questions around what this means for the future of Picasa. After much thought and consideration, we’ve decided to retire Picasa over the coming months in order to focus entirely on a single photo service in Google Photos. We believe we can create a much better experience by focusing on one service Read the rest of this entry »

Summer Backpacking in Yosemite High Sierra

Half Dome 2

Yosemite High Sierra — Cathedral Lake, Half Dome, Tenaya Lake

Start from Tuolumne Meadows (Route 120, Tioga Road) towards Upper Cathedral Lake upon John Muir Trail till the wilderness camping on Sunrise Creek close to Half Dome, right above Little Yosemite Valley (about 14 miles); then round trip hike (without backpacks) to Half Dome on next morning (about 6 miles); then 11 miles section back to Tioga Road (Tenaya Lake) — first from John Muir Trail up towards Cloud Rest — Tenaya Lake Trail, then along this trail to Tenaya Lake. Took us two days of weekend (June 21-22, 2014) to complete.

Even by the plan it looked a little bit strenuous backpacking route.
In fact it is, at least for our level of stamina and preparedness. I would recommend to do it in three days instead of two days. But for me personally I would prefer even shorter sections per day like 8-10 miles Read the rest of this entry »
